On the second line, checkout morning has a different rhythm from the beachfront hotels. The sea is a shuttle ride away, so a last swim needs the timetable and the luggage both sorted before you go, and many guests simply take theirs the evening before. The car comes to the main entrance on the landward side; the driver will not be waiting at the beach, so plan to be back from it with time to spare.

From the hotel the road leads north through the greenhouses to the Gündoğdu lights, where the car joins the D400 westbound. On a summer changeover morning that junction gathers coaches from the whole zone and the lights can hold a short queue; in the small hours it is empty. Beyond it the route is the arrival in reverse, over the Köprüçay, past Serik, the Belek exits and Aksu, and the 55 km to the airport usually take the 50 minutes quoted.

• Count back from your flight when you book the pickup: 50 minutes of road plus the check-in window your airline asks for, which is longer for summer international flights.
• If a beach shuttle is your last outing, give the pickup a wide margin; the car is booked for a set time, and it is easier to set a later one at booking than to change it on the day.
• Give the number of cases, pushchairs and sports bags for the return as well as the arrival so the right vehicle is sent to Gündoğdu.
