Leaving Çolaklı is quick. From the gate the car is on Turizm Caddesi straight away and back up the 1.7 km link road to the D400 within a few minutes, which leaves almost the entire journey on the dual carriageway heading west through Gündoğdu, Serik and Aksu. The 50 minutes allowed for the 56 km is realistic at dawn; on summer afternoons the traffic lights around Serik and the airport approach slow things, and coaches heading to the terminal from the whole Side coast share the road with you.

The short distance tempts people to leave it late, so plan with care. Turizm Caddesi carries a long row of hotel gates, and Orfeus Park and Victory Resort sit next door, so make sure the pickup is booked under Dream World Palace by its full name. If your flight leaves in the early hours, ask reception to have your luggage brought down before the agreed time; the driver waits at the main entrance, and a quiet street at four in the morning makes it easy for the car to pull up right outside.
