Of the three Papillon hotels, Belvil is the one closest to the airport, and on the departure morning that shows: the car leaves Taşlıburun, climbs back past The Land of Legends to the Kadriye junction and joins the D400 there, without crossing Belek or the İleribaşı strip. The westbound dual carriageway carries it past Aksu to the terminal, and the whole 32 km is normally done in about 35 minutes. The only slow spot is the junction itself on a summer changeover day, when coaches from the theme park and the hotels queue for the main road.

Because the drive is short, the pickup time is set mostly by the airport rather than the road: take your airline's check-in deadline, subtract the 35 minutes, then add whatever margin you want at the terminal. Travelling with children? Loading pushchairs, cots borrowed from home and children's bags takes longer than a couple with two cases. Have everything at the main entrance when the car is due; the driver arrives at the agreed hour and starts the clock from there.

• Visiting relatives at Ayscha or Zeugma before you fly? Book the pickup from there instead and say so: those hotels lie east of Belek, which changes the route and the timing.
• Tell us the number of suitcases and pushchairs when you book the departure, because the vehicle is chosen by the load as much as by the head count.
• If the flight is moved, send the new time straight away so the pickup can be reset; the car follows the flight, not the original booking.
