A day in Belek tends to run to a timetable: an early tee time, lunch at the clubhouse, a table at the hotel in the evening. Shopping on any real scale is not part of the resort's offer, and for that, guests head west towards the airport. Mall of Antalya faces Antalya Airport across the D400, and it has an older neighbour: Deepo Outlet Center opened in 2004, the mall opened beside it in 2017, and five corridors now join the two. One stop therefore covers the chain stores in the galleries and the end-of-season rails in the outlet. There is a cinema and a large indoor playground as well, which makes the pair a fallback for those winter golf days when rain washes out a round.

From Belek to Mall of Antalya it is 31 km, about 35 minutes, short enough for an afternoon here to fit between the last putt and dinner. From the resort road the car turns north at Kadriye to reach the D400, then runs west across the flat farmland of the coastal plain, past Aksu, until the outlet and the mall appear side by side, with the airport across the highway. The leg ends there, on Antalya's eastern edge, well clear of the city's traffic. What deserves settling in advance is the way back. The drive out is what you book; a return pickup at a set hour, or a car that waits while you shop, can be added at the same time, so the bags ride in the boot to the hotel door.

• If you are going straight from a round, give the golf club rather than the hotel as the pickup address and say whether the clubs are coming too, so the boot keeps room for the shopping.
• Time the return pickup by your dinner reservation and leave a margin beyond the drive itself, because the D400 around the airport fills up at the end of the working day.
• Perge lies just off the same road at Aksu, so a single day can take in the ruins while the morning is still cool and the shops through the hottest hours, if you plan both legs when booking.
• On the day you fly home a last stop here is easy, with the airport just across the highway, but golf travel bags and suitcases fill a boot quickly, so book a larger vehicle and the waiting time in advance.
