Going home, the whole route runs west from the hotel; the centre of Okurcalar stays behind it to the east and never has to be crossed. The 92 km and 80 minutes run back along the same D400, through Kızılağaç, Kızılot and the long stretch around Manavgat, where junctions and traffic lights cluster. Before dawn they barely slow the car down; by mid-morning in summer they can hold it up noticeably, which is why the airline's check-in deadline matters more than the departure time printed on the ticket.

The hotel faces the sea, and on the departure morning the car must get across to the westbound carriageway of the D400 to head for Antalya. Drivers do that at the nearest junction or turning point, a short detour that is already part of the reckoning. What is not part of it is a guest still at the breakfast table: the car comes at the hour fixed when you booked, so set that hour by counting back from the flight and putting the airport's own queues on top.

• Settle the bar bill and hand back room cards the evening before, because reception tends to be busiest at the usual checkout hour.
• If your flight actually leaves from Gazipaşa, the car turns east instead of west, so name the departure airport when you arrange the pickup.
• Pack souvenirs from the Manavgat market into the cases before the car arrives; loose carrier bags make loading at the gate slower.
