Departure day at a resort of this spread begins inside the gates. If your room is in the Club section, find out the evening before how the luggage gets from there to the main entrance and whether a porter will collect it. Pack the night before and settle anything outstanding at reception after dinner, so that when the car pulls in at the agreed hour you are standing at the door rather than waiting for a trolley.

The road out is uncomplicated. Local streets take the car up from the Sorgun shore to the D400 at Manavgat, and from there it is a straight run west past Serik and Aksu to the terminal: 72 km in all, about 65 minutes in ordinary traffic. On busy summer changeover days, when transfer coaches are also collecting guests from the neighbouring resorts, the short stretch before the highway can thicken, so on those days a slightly earlier pickup gives a small safety margin before check-in rather than a nervous last quarter of an hour.

• Put the section — Club, Hotel or Superior building — on the departure booking too, so the driver knows which door to ask at.
• If you want one last swim from the pier, choose the pickup hour with the swim already counted in rather than asking the driver to wait.
• A family with a pushchair and several cases should say so when booking, so the right size of vehicle is sent the first time.
