A departure from a town hotel is shaped by its first few kilometres. From the hotel the car takes İnönü Bulvarı north through Kumköy, around five kilometres of resort avenues with crossings and traffic lights, before it reaches the D400 west of Manavgat. At five in the morning those streets are empty; by late morning delivery vans and dolmuş minibuses fill the same lanes and that first stretch takes noticeably longer. After it, the highway west past Serik and Aksu is the road you arrived on, and the 65 km and 60 minutes hold outside the summer peaks.

Because the hotel sits in Side rather than on a strip of its own, many guests spend the last evening in the old town and the last morning packing. A late checkout is the hotel's to grant, but the pickup hour is ours to fix: set it when you book, working back from the flight time and your airline's check-in window, and the car will be at the entrance at that hour. It helps to be down in the lobby with the bags when the car pulls up rather than still upstairs.

• Ask for the pickup at the hotel door and leave the exact stopping point to the driver; İnönü Bulvarı in front is the through road to the old town, not a place to stand while bags are loaded.
• Leaving straight from a last dinner in the old town for a night flight is possible: give the restaurant area as the pickup point and the car meets you at the edge of the pedestrian zone.
• Summer night flights are common from Antalya, and at that hour the Kumköy avenue is quiet; a late-morning departure needs more slack than one at midnight.
