Leaving for the airport, the car pulls away from the promenade quarter, climbs back through Kumköy to the D400 and turns west for 63 km, about 55 minutes in ordinary traffic, passing Gündoğdu, Serik, the Belek exits and Aksu before the terminal slip road. The first few hundred metres are the least predictable part: in July and August the Kumköy streets fill with coaches and shuttles at the hours when hotels change their guests over. Set the pickup by subtracting the drive from the time your airline closes check-in, then add some slack on summer weekends.

Since the sand is across the promenade rather than under the windows, one more swim means a walk of about 200 metres back in wet sandals before the shower, the packing and the checkout. It is simpler to hand back the room key first and keep only a beach bag for that last hour. The car stops at the hotel's street entrance on 652 Sokak, and the driver asks at reception for the lead name on the booking, so be dressed and waiting with the luggage a few minutes before the agreed time.

• Write the full hotel name and 652 Sokak 8/A in the return booking, since Quality and Corolla are only a few hundred metres away under the same Seaden sign.
• If one couple in the group flies hours before the others, two separate pickups work better than one car waiting at the terminal.
• A pickup before dawn is the steadiest of the day, as the D400 is close to empty then and the drive hardly varies, so a smaller margin will do.
