With thirty minutes between the hotel and the terminal, the arithmetic of the last day changes. A late flight leaves room for a final morning in the park; an early one costs less sleep than it would from Side or Kemer. Give it when you book, not at reception on the final evening, so the car is planned around your flight.

The road out runs the other way: north up the Kadriye road to the D400, then west past Aksu to the airport turn. Before dawn the village is asleep and the junction clear. In the evening it is a different road, because when the park closes its visitors leave by the same route, excursion coaches and hire cars together, and a pickup timed for just after closing can spend its first minutes in that queue. With a late-night flight, set the car either well before the park empties or after the road has cleared, and leave the cases at reception while you spend the last hours by the slides.

• Children who spend the last day on the water side leave with wet swimwear, so pack a separate bag for it before the car arrives; the boot is loaded at the hotel door and stays shut until the terminal.
• Ask for child seats on the way back as well; they are fitted before the car sets out for Kadriye, not at the door.
• A queue at the park's closing hour adds minutes to the clock and nothing to the fare, which is per vehicle and fixed at booking.
