Leaving Kumköy, the car takes the local roads inland, climbs back to the D400 and turns west for Serik, Aksu and the terminal. The whole run is 62 km, and on a quiet road it takes about 55 minutes. At peak changeover times in summer, coaches from the Side hotels join the same highway, so an early-afternoon departure deserves a margin that a dawn one does not need.

The pickup is at the street entrance on Sahil Caddesi, at the time fixed when you booked. Bags come up from the room to the lobby, not down the beach path, so there is nothing to carry across sand. If you are spending the last morning on the hotel's beach, leave enough time to walk or ride the Club Car back up and change before the car arrives. And if the luggage has grown since arrival, a message the evening before lets us send a bigger vehicle.

• Set the pickup by counting back from departure: about 55 minutes on the road plus your airline's check-in time, often around three hours for summer international flights.
• Write 234/A on the departure request as well as the hotel name, so the car stops at the right point on a street of similar hotel fronts.
• If the flight time changes, just send the new one and the pickup moves with it; the fare is per vehicle and agreed at booking.
