Checkout is at noon, and with afternoon or evening flights that leaves a gap the inland position makes slightly awkward. The beach is two kilometres away and the hotel reaches it by shuttle, so a last swim means being back at the shuttle stop with time in hand rather than strolling up from the sand at the pickup hour. Count one shuttle earlier than feels necessary, have the bags packed before you go down, and be in the lobby when the car pulls in, because it comes to the main building and not to the beach.

The way out is short at the hotel end. There is no private estate road to clear: the car leaves the entrance straight onto Atatürk Caddesi, runs north to the D400 and turns west for the airport. Before dawn that road is empty, and the 29 km take the same 30 minutes as on arrival. In the summer afternoon the D400 around Aksu and the airport junction is where any slack gets used, so a departure booked for later in the day deserves a little extra margin.

• Give the hotel entrance on Atatürk Caddesi as the pickup point, not the beach; the shuttle brings you back, the car does not go down to the shore.
• Set the pickup time from the flight, not from the noon checkout; if hours are left over, ask reception about holding the bags.
• Families who came for the aquapark and the theme park often travel with small children: give their ages at booking so the right child seats are already fitted when the car arrives.
