Going back, the first minutes are Side's own streets, and they behave quite differently from the highway. In the small hours they are empty and the car is up at the Side junction quickly; from late morning, and again in the early evening, the road between the town and the D400 is busy with buses, hire cars and day visitors heading for the ruins, and that is the slowest part of the whole run. Westbound the D400 then passes Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Serik on the way to the airport turn, and the 64 km normally fits the 60 minutes when the coast is not in its August peak.
