Leaving, the car first runs west along Turizm Caddesi for about four kilometres, past Rixos Park Belek, to the roundabout at Belek, and stays on the avenue through Kadriye. The Kadriye road then leads north past The Land of Legends to the D400, and the highway does the rest past Aksu. In ordinary traffic the 37 km take about 40 minutes, a little longer on a summer Saturday when much of the coast changes guests on the same day.

If you are staying as a larger party, several couples or an extended family sharing villas, that shapes the departure more than the road does. Give us the number of people and of suitcases rather than the number of villas, so that the vehicle fits, and tell us if part of the group needs a second car for a different flight. Agree with reception where the car should wait for you, and have the cases brought to that spot before the agreed time rather than at it.

• Count back from the flight: about 40 minutes of road plus your airline's check-in window, with a small margin in case the avenue past the neighbouring hotels is busy.
• If some of the party fly home on another day, book each departure as its own pickup; every leg is a separate trip from the estate.
