For the airport the order flips: the roundabout first, then the three kilometres north along Hüseyin Avni Akın Caddesi through Manavgat's outer quarters to the D400. It is an ordinary town street with junctions and a roundabout, so it is slower than the highway, and a few spare minutes for it are worth adding at busy times of day. Once on the highway the car heads west past the Side junction, Serik and Aksu, and the 65 minutes for 71 km are realistic except on the busiest summer changeover days.

The hotel stands a short way off the Titreyengöl street, down its own short turning, so the meeting point for the departure is simply the hotel entrance. The thing to watch is the name: two former Maya hotels stand side by side here, so the booking should carry Club Golf Hotel, Titreyengöl Mevkii, and if you have been out at the Aquajoy slides or on the beach on the last day, leave enough time to walk back and change before the agreed hour.

• Count back from the flight: 65 minutes on the road plus the check-in time your airline gives, which for international departures in summer tends to be around three hours.
• Ask for children's seats on the return booking too; they go into the car before it leaves for Titreyengöl.
• The fare is fixed per vehicle when you book, so morning traffic out of Manavgat changes the timing, not the cost.
