The departure runs the arrival backwards: up Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Yavuz Sultan Selim boulevards through the roundabouts to the highway at Manavgat's western edge, then west on the D400. Those three kilometres of town streets are the part that changes with the clock. Before six they are empty and the car is on the highway within minutes; from mid-morning the roundabouts carry Manavgat's own traffic, school runs, delivery vans and buses to the beach hotels, and the same stretch takes noticeably longer. With the road open, the 68 km westward hold to the 60 minutes quoted.

Two things about this address are worth planning for. The beach is a shuttle ride away, so a last morning swim depends on the shuttle's timetable as much as on your pickup hour; if the two do not fit, the swim is the thing to drop. And because many guests still know the hotel by its previous name, a taxi called on the day can end up at the wrong Side gate. A transfer booked in advance carries the current name, Barut Goia, and the street number, so the driver comes to the entrance on Adnan Menderes Bulvarı.

• For a midday flight, add a margin for the roundabouts at Manavgat's edge; a pre-dawn departure needs none.
• Agree the pickup hour at booking, working back from the flight: road time plus the check-in window your airline sets, often close to three hours for international departures in summer.
• The fare is fixed per vehicle, not per passenger, so a family with teenagers pays the same as a couple in the same car.
