The way out runs north-west along Sahil Caddesi first, then up through Kumköy to the D400. Before dawn that takes next to no time. Between about nine and noon on a changeover day, though, the narrow streets near the shore are exactly where coaches stop to load, and there is rarely room to squeeze past one. On the D400, the 62 km run west past Serik and Aksu is steady dual carriageway, and the 55 minutes are a fair estimate outside the summer rush.
