On the way out the car retraces those last turns: up the side street, round the small roundabout, along the boulevard and north to the junction, roughly two kilometres of village roads before the D400. Before dawn they are empty and take very little time; in the late morning they share space with mopeds, delivery vans and holidaymakers crossing to the beach, which adds a few minutes before the highway. From there the 59 km to the terminal usually come in at the 55 minutes quoted.

Because the beach is a short walk away, many guests fit in a last swim before leaving, which is easy here as long as wet towels and sandy shoes do not end up in the suitcase at the last minute. Fix the pickup time when you book, counting back from the flight and your airline's check-in deadline, and wait in the lobby rather than at the corner: the car comes down the side street to the hotel entrance itself, so there is no need to walk up to the boulevard.

• Pack the beach bag the night before and keep only what you will need for a last swim, so the boot does not end up full of damp kit.
• For an early departure, a quick word with reception the evening before means the night staff are expecting a car on the side street.
• Prices are per vehicle and agreed at booking, so a few slow minutes on Evrenseki's streets at the busiest hour do not change what you pay.
