This is a family resort, and a family leaving it carries more than a pair of adults would: pushchairs, a bag of beach toys, the seat a toddler needs in the car. Say on the booking which child seats you want for the ride back as well as the ride in, with the children's ages, because they are fitted before the car sets off and cannot be improvised at the gate. For an evening flight it is worth asking the hotel about a late checkout; otherwise plan the last hours with the cases already down at reception.

The road out reverses the road in. Kongre Caddesi takes the car west into Belek town, past the same run of gates, and from there it climbs out to the D400 and heads west for the airport. The whole trip is again 38 km and about 40 minutes, and outside the summer peaks it rarely runs over. The slow part tends to be at the far end: the line of cars at the departures kerb in high season, then the check-in hall. Work the pickup out from your airline's check-in deadline, adding the drive and a margin for the terminal.

• Tell reception the pickup hour as well; the driver comes to the main entrance on Kongre Caddesi, and a guest waiting down on the beach side is a guest the driver cannot see.
• The fare covers the whole vehicle and is set when you book, so a slow boulevard on a changeover morning costs minutes rather than money.
• Two families on the same flight can share one car to the terminal; book it as a single pickup and give the full head count and bag count.
