On the way out the order is reversed, and the first stretch is the slowest per kilometre. Kumköy Bulvarı wakes early in summer: delivery vans stop outside the shops, staff buses drop off at the hotel entrances, and by mid-morning the crossings are busy with people heading for the beach. Before dawn none of that has started, and the car is back on the D400 within minutes. From there the D400 carries it west through Serik and Aksu, and the 55 minutes for the 60 km hold whenever the airport approach itself is clear.

Since the hotel stands back from the shore, a last morning swim means a walk of a few hundred metres back from the beach before showering and checking out, so leave more than a few minutes between the sea and the agreed pickup hour. The car stops at the main entrance on the boulevard. Set the hour when you book, counting back from the time your airline closes check-in, and tell us if the luggage has grown during the stay.

• A flight in the late evening leaves a long afternoon after check-out; ask reception early in the stay whether a later room or a day-use arrangement is possible.
• If the boulevard is busy when the car arrives, the driver will pull in at the entrance as soon as it is clear, so be in the lobby at the agreed time.
• The fixed fare is per vehicle and settled at booking, so a slow start through Kumköy costs minutes, not money.
