Leaving Hemera is the short version of a Side departure. The car collects you on the boulevard, heads back up through Kumköy and is on the D400 within a few minutes, without touching the old town's traffic at all. The 64 km back to the terminals take about 60 minutes, and the part that varies most with the hour is the approach to Antalya, where commuters and lorries join the highway from mid-morning onwards. An early flight is the easy case, as the roads out of Side are nearly empty in the small hours.

Sand is the one souvenir that travels home in every bag from a hotel on the beach. Rinse and pack the beach things the evening before, set the pickup by working back from your flight, and wait at the main entrance on the boulevard rather than on the beach side, which no car can reach.
