Antalya Airport to Antalya Expo Center transfer
Antalya Expo Center is the city's trade-fair and congress ground, out on the Konyaaltı side west of the centre: exhibition halls standing on open ground, with the yards and service roads a fair needs around them rather than anything built to be looked at. It is a working venue and not a sight. Nobody arrives here at random and nobody wanders in — you come for one particular fair or conference, on dates somebody else has fixed, and often with a stand or a case of samples in the boot. What is on decides everything else about the day.
The ground lies 6 km from the terminal, about 15 minutes, but the distance matters less than the event does. On the opening morning of a large fair several thousand people have been given the same start time, so the queue builds on the approach and at the gates while the city's own rush hour is still running on the roads behind you; the two arrive together. On a quiet weekday the same distance delivers you early, with time to spare that you had not planned for.
Visiting Antalya Expo Center
The programme decides how long you stay, which makes this the one destination here whose length is not ours to estimate. A fair walked as a visitor is three to four hours, so a drop-off with a pickup booked for a named hour covers it. A congress day, or a stand you are working, runs from morning to evening and wants the same arrangement with a later time on it. A single meeting, or anything you are bringing material to, is the case for a car that waits, because boxes do not go back on foot. Say which of the three you are doing when you book.
Underfoot it is level made ground, easy enough in itself, but the halls stand apart from one another and you cross between them outside, over open yards and service roads with nothing above you. Inside is cool; that crossing at two in the afternoon is not, and it punishes anyone moving a case of samples rather than a lanyard. Shoes that stay comfortable for six hours on a hard floor matter more here than at any ruin. Sessions and stand duty fill the day in blocks, so the usable hours sit at its two ends, before the halls are full or once they have started to empty.
When the hall closes there is something to do with the rest of the day, because this end of the city is the good end: Konyaaltı beach is minutes down towards the shore, the archaeological museum stands above it, and the old town is a short run further round the bay. That also answers the other problem this page has, which is that anyone who travelled with you will have finished with the exhibition hours before you do, and a car can take them to the beach instead of leaving them in a corridor. A fair's last day thins out early, so book that evening's pickup earlier than the programme suggests.
- Find out which hall your event is in before the day, because from the car the site does not read as one building with one door.
- You are outdoors and in full sun between halls, so what is comfortable inside an air-conditioned space all day is not always enough for the crossing.
- Food and water inside a fair go at exhibition prices, and a bottle carried in costs nothing.
- If someone travelled with you, have them taken down to Konyaaltı rather than left to wait: the site is built for delegates and not for anyone filling four hours.
