Leaving Narcia, the first minutes run along Sahil Caddesi and the Kumköy access road towards the Side junction. Before sunrise that is a matter of moments; from mid-morning it is the slow part, because coaches collecting from several Kumköy hotels stop and start along the same streets. Once the car is back on the D400 it heads west through Serik and past Aksu, and the 62 km to the terminal usually take about 55 minutes, a little more on busy summer Saturdays.

The beach shuttle shapes a last morning here. A final swim means fitting the ride down to the sea and back into the time before checkout, and the shuttle runs on its own timetable rather than yours, so go early and have the cases packed before you leave the room. Ask reception where luggage can wait if the car is booked for later in the day. When the time comes, the driver pulls up at the main gate on Sahil Caddesi, not down at the beach, so be back from the shore with a few minutes in hand.

• Be at the Sahil Caddesi gate at the agreed hour; the car does not go down to the beach, and the shuttle back up may not line up with your pickup.
