The departure starts on the street behind the hotel, since the sea side belongs to walkers. From there the car works its way up through Kumköy to the main road, a short stretch of resort traffic that is quiet before dawn and crowded with buses and rental cars by mid-morning. On the D400 the road runs west through Gündoğdu, Serik and Aksu to the airport turn, the same highway you arrived on, and outside the busiest summer weekends the 63 km take the 55 minutes quoted.

A beachfront room makes it tempting to squeeze in one more morning on the sand, and the promenade makes it easy to wander further than planned. Set the pickup hour when you book, count back from the flight, and leave a margin for checkout and for carrying bags from the room to the street-side door. If your flight leaves late in the day, ask reception in advance what happens to the room and the luggage between checkout and the car.

• Tell us if you will be waiting on the promenade side; the car cannot reach it, so the driver will come to the street entrance and look for you there.
• Allow 55 minutes for the road and add the check-in window your airline sets; in July and August the queues at Antalya make that window worth respecting.
• Sand in suitcases is a classic last-morning delay: shake out the beach things the evening before and keep the passports in a pocket, not a packed case.
