Antalya Airport to Marmaris transfer
Marmaris sits at the back of a deep bay in Muğla province, ringed by pine-covered hills that come down almost to the waterline. It is a large resort with a marina, a long seafront promenade, an old bazaar under a small castle and İçmeler further round the shore; ferries leave the quay for Rhodes and the Datça peninsula road starts here. Nothing about it is quiet in August. At 290 km from Antalya Airport, a transfer to Marmaris is also one of the two longest on our list: close to four hours, across two provinces.
The route runs inland the whole way: up onto the Korkuteli plateau, across the Elmalı basin, down to the Eşen valley and then north-west through Muğla before the final descent. Reckon on around 3 hours 50 minutes. The last part is the one people remember — a long drop through pine forest with the bay opening up below, curve after curve rather than hairpins, but without a break. Add a coffee stop and the whole thing becomes four hours plus, which is worth knowing when you choose between an early and a late flight.
