At 162 km this is the farthest point on the Gazipaşa list, and almost everyone who books it does so because a seasonal charter and an all-inclusive week were bought separately. Kundu is the enclave of very large resorts on Antalya's eastern shore, the kind of holiday where guests settle in behind the gate and stay there. That has an odd consequence worth planning for: for many families the drive from GZP turns out to be most of the Turkey they see, so it is better treated as the sightseeing part of the trip than as an inconvenience at the start of it.

The road out of Gazipaşa turns west and stays west for two hours. What follows is the full width of the coast: the climb inland, the cliff bends above Mahmutlar and Kestel, the castle promontory above Alanya, the open plain past Manavgat and Side, the Belek pines, and finally the turn down towards the shore where the resort road begins. Allow about 2 hours 10 minutes for the 162 km, more on a summer afternoon, noticeably less after midnight. None of it is a detour: the D400 is the only road between the two ends of the drive.

• Kundu is one line of resorts on a single access road off the coast highway, so the exact hotel name saves the driver a run past the whole row of gates.
• Take what you need for two hours out of the case before you leave the terminal, because the boot is packed at the airport and not opened again until the gate.
• The first forty minutes out of Gazipaşa are the bendiest part of this coast, so anyone prone to travel sickness should take something before setting off rather than after Alanya.
• On departure day work backwards from the check-in desk rather than from take-off: 162 km plus the desk means leaving about four hours before the flight.
